Welcome March! I hope everyone had a great week back after our break!

Joke of the week: What did the big flower say to the small flower?


Language Arts- This week we will continue Unit 4 of our Journey’s series, lesson 19. Our essential question is, What kind of things could happen on a hike? We will read, Nicky and the Rainy Day, Sheep Take a Hike, and The Three Billy Goats Gruff. As we read the stories we will focus on the sequence of events, questioning the story, and word choice. We will be learning sight words: go, here, soon, for, they, up and will review the letter Dd and its sound. In grammar, we will learn about verbs in the Past Tense. Lastly, we will continue to write and create and copy sentences using our sight words and some larger words.

This weeks language arts centers will focus on sight words, CVC words, writing sentences around the room, and word family endings.

Math- In math we will continue working on Chapter 9- Identify and Describe Two-Dimensional Shapes. So far we have learned about circles, and squares; this week we will focus on triangles and rectangles!

Math Centers- This weeks math centers will involve 2D shapes.

Jesus Time- We will continue to read our Children’s Beginner Bible Stories, we love reading this book and have just entered the New Testament! After each story the children look forward to watching a video pertaining to the story we read and connecting what we read to the video!

Science: This week we will be discussing nature, animals, and safety in nature.

This week begins Read Across America! We will be reading fun stories, learning from a scholastic, coloring pictures, and more!
