English Language Arts Classes

Upcoming Assignments: The September book project is due on Tuesday, October 9th. There will be a spelling test on unit 3 on Friday, October 12. Seventh grade will take their spelling test on Tuesday, October 16 due to their trip to Boston. Now that the book projects are due, students will be assigned reading at home.

6th Grade: The sixth graders are continuing to read The Watson’s Go To Birmingham 1963. They will be expected to read at home as well as in class. This week we will discuss the characters’ traits. The students will finish up nouns and pronouns and begin adjectives.

7th Grade: Seventh graders will continue reading The Wednesday Wars. The students will study some of the hilarious consequences of the main character in the novel. Students must read at home due to missing classes. We will finish reviewing nouns and pronouns and begin reviewing adjectives.

8th Grade: Students in eighth grade will continue reading The Outsiders. They will study the conflict in the novel. Students will be assigned reading at home this week. We will begin to work on adjectives.

7th Grade Religion: We are reviewing for unit one test. Students will have a test on unit one on Wednesday, October 10. There will not be a memory quiz this week.
