Upcoming Assignments: There will be a vocabulary test on unit 2 on Friday, Oct.5- much of the homework will be vocabulary.

September book projects are due on TUESDAY OCTOBER 9

6th Grade: Students will begin to read the novel, The Watson’s Go to Birmingham, 1963. We will read, discuss and having writing responses to the book. The class will discuss setting and characterization. Vocabulary and pronouns will be reviewed as well.

7th Grade: The seventh graders will begin the novel, The Wednesday Wars. They will be discussing the setting, characters, and some of the conflict in the story. Students will respond by speaking and writing. Vocabulary and pronouns will be reviewed.

8th Grade: The eighth grade classes have begun reading The Outsiders. This novel is very character driven. We will look at the characters and the conflicts within the story. For reflection we will have writing and oral discussions. We will review vocabulary and pronouns.

7th Grade: In 7th Grade religion we are finishing working on connecting the Old Testament and the Commandments, which ends unit 1. Once we do, students will be given a review packet for a unit exam. This will be given some time next week. The review packet will be on google classroom at the end of the week.
