Greetings! This week almost every class will be taking or preparing for a test this week, which will be the last before the end of the second trimester. Here are the updates.

6th Social Studies

Last week I wrote that sixth grade would tentatively take their test on chapter 9 this week, but it is officially scheduled for Tuesday, March 17th. Instead of rushing through the chapter, we are taking our time and the students have been asking great questions. We even had the opportunity to demonstrate how a battle phalanx worked in Ancient Greece. This week we will finish up our study of Greece by learning about Greek architecture, philosophy, and scientific advances. The students will receive their review on Wednesday.

6th Religion

This week we are studying the first two kings of Israel. We will get into Saul’s downfall and David’s rise to power, and also some of his mistakes. The memory verse for this week is Ephesians 4:32, which is on page 63 of the student book.

7th Social Studies

The students will take their test on Chapter 7, Writing the Constitution, on Wednesday, March 11th. You may view the study guide here. On Thursday, they will break into teams and will compete in a quiz game based on the questions that are asked in the U.S. citizenship test to become a naturalized citizen.

8th Social Studies

This week we are finishing up our study of the Roaring Twenties, chapter 22. The students will take their test on Thursday, March 12th. You may view the study guide here.

8th Religion

Last week we started studying the wisdom of Solomon, and this week we will go into his tragic fall from God. This will be the last lesson in Unit 3, and the students will take their test on Tuesday, March 17th. You may view the study guide here. There is no memory verse this week.

Have wonderful and blessed week!
