Greetings to all! Welcome back to the first full week of the third trimester of school! Here are the plans for my classes this week.

7th Social Studies

This week we are studying the events that challenged the first two U.S. Presidents, George Washington and John Adams. Due to the Terra Nova Exams being given the first week of April, the students will complete an open notes assessment to close out the chapter since they will not have social studies during testing.

8th Social Studies

In eighth grade, we will be wrapping up our study of the Great Depression and the New Deal, especially focusing on the long term effects on our nation. to close out the chapter, the students will be completing a DBQ, Document based Question, and essay as their chapter assessment. They will complete the document work on Wednesday, and they will write the essay on Thursday.

8th Religion

This week the students are continuing to study the kings of Israel and Judah, specifically Ahaz and Hezekiah. On Thursday, the students will present their third trimester project, Design a House of Worship. I told the students that they should be creative with this assignment, but they do need to follow the requirements given on the project rubric/outline. The memory verse for this week is 1 Peter 2:21, which is on page 85 of the student book.
