I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We are back for a full week of school. Here are the plans for this week.

7th Social Studies

This week, the students will be presenting their Bill of Rights projects to their classmates. They have been very focused and have worked diligently on their songs and illustration, so I look forward to seeing their ideas come to life! On Friday, the students will have a test on chapter 7, Creating the Constitution. Extra help will be on Friday morning, and you may view the study guide here.

8th Social Studies

The students in eighth grade also have a chapter test this week. The test on Chapter 22, The Roaring Twenties, will be on Friday. Extra help will be Friday morning, and you may view the study guide here.

8th Religion

In eighth grade religion, the students are beginning Unit 4, which goes into the books of 1 Kings and 2 Kings. This week we will get into the division of the Kingdom into Israel and Judah, and then the life and prophecies of Elijah. The students also received the outline for the third trimester project, Design a House of Worship. You may view the outline here. This is a rather open ended assignment, so I told the students to be creative, but they must include certain elements in their model. The memory verse for this week is Isaiah 41:10, which is on page 81 of the student book.
