“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning.” – Benjamin Franklin

Welcome back to a new week filled fresh opportunities to grow and learn. In all three social studies classes this week, we are reviewing for midterm the midterm exam on Thursday, January 23rd. The students should bring their chapter tests and study guides to class this week, along with their regular notes. Each student will receive a copy of the review packet on Monday, and it is their responsibility to keep track of the packets. No extra copies will be available. I will link the packets below, but in order to help commit the content to memory, the students will need to complete the work on paper, not on through Google Classroom.

Sixth Grade Social Studies Midterm Review

Seventh Grade Social Studies Midterm Review

Eighth Grade Social Studies Midterm Review

While much of our focus this week is on midterms, in religion classes we are carrying on with the regular content. The students do not take a religion midterm, but they do take a final. In sixth grade we are studying the miracles that God performed to help His people as they were approaching the Promised Land, specifically those found in the books of Numbers and Joshua. In eighth grade, we are continuing to study the Judges and the leadership qualities of those individuals. The overarching theme for both classes is how God is merciful to His people and will use the most unlikely individuals for His service. Neither class has a memory quiz this week. They should focus on preparing for their midterms.
