How can second graders be successful? We explored this recently and came up with many tools and skills needed to ensure a successful year in our classroom. More importantly, we discovered that our attitude is everything! Moving forward, our conversation this week will continue and focus on what growth mindset is all about.

Since we are a large group of second graders, it is especially important to understand expectations and procedures. We are working hard, sharpening our listening skills, following directions and working as a team in order to be the best learners!

As parents and guardians we often ask our children at the end of the day, “How was your day at school?”  What kind of response do you get? Here are some questions you might want to ask in order to ignite more thoughtful conversation …”What is Morning Message?” or “Have you read any books in class?” Or, “What was the best part of your day?”

ELA Benchmark Assessments will be completed by the end of the week. Curriculum will begin to be introduced in most subject areas. Please help me by encouraging careful completion of homework each night. All supplies should be in at this point.  Please send in pizza money (green envelopes) by Thursday of each week. This Friday will be our first Pizza Day!
