Math 6

This week we will begin Unit 1.  The students will be exploring how to identify integers and their opposites.  We will also learn how to compare and order integers involving positive and negative numbers.  Lastly students will be introduced to absolute value. Extra help is on Monday mornings from 7:30 -8:00.

Math 7

This week we will begin Unit 1.  This week we will be reviewing the rules for adding and subtracting integers.  Extra help is on Monday mornings from 7:30 – 8:00.

Pre-Algebra

Students will begin to learn how to classify numbers that are rational and irrational.  We will also review how to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions. Students will also be introduced to square roots and how to approximate their values.  We will be having a quiz on the above topics on Monday, September 16th. Extra help is on Monday mornings from 7:30 to 8:00.  

Algebra

We are beginning the year with Chapter 2 in our textbook.  This chapter covers solving 1, 2, and multi-step equations. We will also be exploring equations that have variables on both sides and how to transform literal equations.  Extra help is by appointment.
