Math 6

This week we are beginning a new chapter on Expressions.  This week our focus will be on translating between words and expressions.  Students will be introduced to basic algebraic concepts, such as variables, coefficients, and constants.  At the end of the week, students will be working on a PBL about the origins of Algebra.  There are not any tests or quizzes this week.   Extra help is on Mondays at 7:30 AM.

 

Math 7

This week we are starting a new chapter on 3-D geometry.  We will be exploring surface area, cross sections, and volume of figures.There will be a quiz on volume and cross sections on Thursday, 3/12.  Extra help is on Mondays at 7:30 AM.

 

Pre-Algebra

We are continuing with  2-D geometry.  This week our focus will be on different types of angles such as, complementary, supplementary, adjacent, corresponding, interior, exterior, and vertical.  We will have a quiz on angles on Thursday, 3/12. Extra help is Mondays at 7:30 AM.

 

Algebra

This week we are starting chapter 9, quadratic equations.  We will be exploring the axis of symmetry, vertex, finding the roots of an equation, and solving equations using the zero property.  There will be a quiz on Monday, March 16th. Extra help is by appointment.
