Math 6

This week we are continuing with our introduction to Algebra unit.  We will be exploring how to evaluate expressions when variables are given a numerical value.  At the end of the week, students will continue working on a PBL about the origins of Algebra. After this week, please check the google classroom for assignments.

Math 7

This week we are finishing up our 3-D Geometry unit.  The test will cover cross sections, surface area, and volume of 3-D figures.  Following the exam, we will begin our unit on statistics.  We will begin by exploring populations and samples.  This will lead us to measures of center (mean, median, and mode) and measures of variations (range, minimum, maximum, and quartiles). After this week, please check the google classroom for all assignments.

Pre-Algebra

We are finishing up our 2-D Geometry Unit.  The students have 2 review packets that they can use to guide their studying.  Following the exam we will begin exploring the Pythagorean Theorem. After this week, please check the google classroom for all assignments.

Algebra

This week we are continuing with  chapter 9, quadratic equations.  We have been learning different ways to solve quadratic equations using factoring and square roots.  This week the focus will be on completing the square method and using the quadratic formula.  Once we have mastered these methods, this will lead us to solving quadratic word problems.  After this week, please check the google classroom for all assignments.
