Math 6

This week we are starting a new chapter on coordinate graphing.  Students will learn about the coordinate plane and how to plot points.  At the end of the week we will be working on a graphing project.  There are not any tests or quizzes this week.  Extra help is on Mondays at 7:30 AM.

Math 7

This week we are continuing our unit on 2-D Geometry.  Thus far we have finished up our scale drawing projects, as well as exploring angle relationships involving complementary and supplementary angles.  We also learn how to calculate circumference and area of circles.  This week our focus will be on finding the area of squares, rectangles, parallelograms, triangles, and trapezoids.  There will be a quiz on perimeter and area of the above mentioned shapes on Thursday, 2/6.  Extra help is on Mondays at 7:30 AM.

Pre-Algebra

Our next chapter focuses on solving systems of equations.  We will be learning three methods to do so.  Last week we explored graphing and then substitution. This week our focus is on elimination.  This will lead us to solving systems of equations involving word problems.  There will be a quiz on elimination and solving system word problems on Friday, 2/7.   Extra help is Mondays at 7:30 AM.

Algebra

We are finishing up chapter 7.  This chapter covers exponential functions.  We will explore growth rates, factors and exponential decay.  This week we will be reviewing all topics from this chapter for the test on Thursday, 2/6.  Extra help is by appointment.
