Math 6

We are finishing up with our unit on Fractions.  Thus far we have reviewed operations of fractions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.)   Students also learned to take these skills and apply them to word problems and recipes while cooking during their math lab last week.  This week our focus will be on reviewing for our fraction test which will be on Wednesday, 11/6.  Please note that the test will be on the above topics, as well as greatest common factor and least common multiples.    Extra help is on Mondays at 7:30 AM.

Math 7

This week we are continuing with our unit on percents.  We will be exploring how to calculate percent of increase and decrease.  This will lead us to calculating sale prices, tax, tips, etc.  There will be a quiz only on calculating percent of increase and decrease on Wednesday, 11/6.   Extra help is on Mondays at 7:30 AM.

Pre-Algebra

We are  still working on our unit on solving equations.  Students reviewed how to solve 2-step and multi-step, equations containing fractions and variables on both sides,   writing and solving algebraic equations and consecutive integer problems. There will be a quiz on solving algebraic word problems and consecutive integer problems on Tuesday, 11/5.   Extra help is Mondays at 7:30 AM.

Algebra

This week we are beginning a new chapter on systems of equations.  We will be learning how to solve two equations using various methods such as, graphing, substitution, and elimination.  There are not any tests or quizzes this week.  Extra help is by appointment.
