Math 6
We are beginning our next unit on decimals. Students will explore different operations involving decimals and how to apply these skills to application problems. This week our focus will be on multiplying and dividing decimals. We will also be exploring how decimals are related to fractions and percents. There are no quizzes this week. Extra help is on Mondays at 7:30 AM.
Math 7
This week we are continuing with our unit on percents. We have explored how to calculate percent of increase and decrease. Last week our focus was on calculating discounts and sale prices. This week our focus will be on calculating tax, tips, etc. We will also be starting a percent project in class. Be on the lookout for more information regarding this on the goggle classroom. Extra help is on Mondays at 7:30 AM.
Pre-Algebra
We are finishing up our unit on solving equations. Students reviewed how to solve 2-step and multi-step, equations containing fractions and variables on both sides, writing and solving algebraic equations and consecutive integer problems, and transforming formulas. There will be a test on this unit on Wednesday, 11/13. Review sheets for this unit were given to the students on Friday, 11/8. Extra help is Mondays at 7:30 AM.
Algebra
This week we are continuing our chapter on systems of equations. We learned how to solve two equations using various methods such as, graphing, substitution, and elimination. There will be a quiz using these three methods on Wednesday, 11/13. Following the quiz we will be working on solving systems involving word problems. Extra help is by appointment.

Reminders:
If you have not already done so, please bring in a donation for our food drive. Grade 6 is collecting macaroni and cheese. Grade 7 is collecting Pasta and Sauce and grade 8 is collecting canned soup.
