Hello Parents,

We had an awesome first week of school. The children are really getting accustomed to the routine and are making new friends!

This week we will continue to get to know one another, learning the classroom and playground rules. This week’s scholastic reader is based on friends sharing. Academically, we have begun the unit, ready for school. We will be learning about the letter Bb, squares, the color yellow and the number two. Mathematically, we will begin to understand the concept of in, on, under using bear counters. We will be reading several books including: Friends at School, A Splendid Friend Indeed, Annie, Bea and Chi Chi Dolores (re-read) and various books on apples.

For Jesus time, we will continue to sing the songs: Jesus loves me and the B-I-B-L-E. We are exploring the theme, God created the world for us.

Homework packets will be coming home on Monday and are due back on Friday.

We are having a soccer shots free day on Monday. Soccer shots will be offered on Mondays and Wednesdays, space permitting. This week we are also beginning to go to the playground across the street, which is the playground we will go to for the remainder of the school year.

We will begin talking about the seasons and the first day of fall which is on Monday, September 23rd.

if you haven’t already submitted the “About me” page for your child for our class book, please send it in this week as I will begin circulating the book to the class next week.
