Hello Parents,

This week we are celebrating Read Across America. Monday, we will begin with the Dr. Seuss books that we will be reading this week. It is also Dr. Seuss’ actual birthday, so we will have a special snack. We also will have a visit from a dentist. Tuesday, we will be visiting the book fair, please send in money if you would like your child to purchase books. Also, please send in a package of index cards, as we will begin writing the sight words we have learned so that your children may have the flash cards to practice during the summer before they begin kindergarten.

We are continuing with the theme, Imagine It Make It. The 4th and final unit is entitled, Art All Around Us.

BIG Idea: I enjoy art that other people create. Knowledge Focus: Children learn how imagination and creativity shape our world. Social-Emotional Focus: Initiative

This week we will be reviewing letters A-T, numbers 1-17, and all the shapes that we have learned. We will not begin the letter U until next week since we are focusing on Read Across America this week. We are continuing to learn sight words which is the beginning step for early reading.
