Hello Parents,

This is a short week, NO SCHOOL ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY due to the Thanksgiving break. Enjoy your long weekend and I hope you have a blessed Thanksgiving. We will be having our Thanksgiving feast on Wednesday, thank you to all the parents who kindly signed up to donate items to our class celebration. The turkey trot will also be on Wednesday.

We are continuing the theme entitled, “Our Community”. The last unit is called, Going Green! The main idea is that “I can make a difference.” Children learn about the role of the community in their lives and the importance of good citizenship. The vocabulary for this unit includes: Earth, environment, protect, recycle, reduce, reuse and trash. Seasonally, we will continue learning about the Native Americans and Thanksgiving. We will be discussing being thankful for our family, our school and our friends.

We will be learning about the letter Ll and the number 12. Mathematically, we will introduce: Concept of Counting, Counting to 5, Matching Numerals to Quantity. We will be reading the following books: The Cleanup Surprise and Big Earth, Little Me.

For Jesus time, we are going to discuss the friendship between David and Jonathan. We will be going to chapel on Wednesday with the rest of the school.

This week’s scholastic reader is entitled “Helping Long Ago.”

Homework packets will be coming home on Monday and are due back on Monday of next week. Please send in any communications, money, etc. INSIDE your child’s folder inside of placing it loosely in their backpacks.

Pizza envelopes will be sent home on Monday this week and are due back Wednesday/Thursday morning the latest.

Please dress your child with clothing appropriate for the weather, we will be going out twice a day unless it is raining or the temperature drops below 40 degrees. Also for safety reasons, please have your child wear sneakers.

Please remove any papers that come home in your child’s folder daily, some are time sensitive.
