Hello Parents,

This week’s unit is entitled, All Kinds of Families.  We will be discussing how unique and different each family is. Children will learn about family members, family roles, and unique qualities of families.The vocabulary for this unit includes: alike, different, respect, similar, special and tradition.

On Thursday morning, Abraham, our comfort dog, will visit our class again. We will also be having a Halloween party on Thursday as well, NO COSTUMES please. Thank you to the parents who have signed up to donate items to our party, it is very much appreciated.

We will be learning about the letter Hh, octagon, the color black and the number eight. Mathematically, we will introduce: sorting and describing objects. We will review: counting objects and recognizing numerals. We will be reading several books including: You and Me Together: Moms, Dads and Kids Around the World, We are All alike…We are All Different and the Peter Pumpkin Story.

For Jesus time, we are going to talk about Baby Moses. We will continue to sing the songs: Jesus loves me, the B-I-B-L-E and My God is so Great.

Homework packets will be coming home on Monday and are due back on Friday. Please send in any communications, money, etc. INSIDE your child’s folder inside of placing it loosely in their backpacks.

Pizza envelopes will be sent home on Monday and are due back Wednesday.

Please dress your child with clothing appropriate for the weather, we will be going out twice a day unless it is raining or the temperature drops below 40 degrees. Also for safety reasons, please have your child wear sneakers.

The “About Me” class book has begun circulating in the class, every child will have a turn to bring the binder home to learn about their friends. If you haven’t done so, please send in your child’s “about me” story and their picture to be included.

Please remove any papers that come home in your child’s folder daily, some are time sensitive.
