Hello Parents,
SCHOOL CLOSED ON FRIDAY-STAFF PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Wednesday is picture day.
This week’s unit is entitled, Family Fun. We will be continuing to discuss who is in each child’s family. The vocabulary for this unit includes: celebrate, holiday, relatives, thankful and together.
We are going to have a two special visits this week. Monday afternoon, we will have Abraham, our comfort dog, visit our class. Tuesday, we will have a special visit from the fire department. Our Scholastic Reader is entitled, “Firefighters are Heroes.”
We will be learning about the letter Gg, hexagon, the color brown and the number seven. Mathematically, we will review counting objects and recognizing numerals. We will be reading several books including: Celebrations, What Mommies Do Best/What Daddies Do Best, My Day From A to Z.
For Jesus time, we are going to chapel on Wednesday, we will continue to sing the songs: Jesus loves me, the B-I-B-L-E and My God is so Great. We will be learning about Jacob and Rachel having a baby.
We are going to carve a pumpkin to see what is inside.
Homework packets will be coming home on Monday and are due back on Thursday this week since there is no school on Friday. Please send in any communications, money, etc. INSIDE your child’s folder inside of placing it loosely in their backpacks.
Please dress your child with clothing appropriate for the weather, we will be going out twice a day unless it is raining or the temperature drops below 40 degrees. Also for safety reasons, please have your child wear sneakers.
The “About Me” class book has begun circulating in the class, every child will have a turn to bring the binder home to learn about their friends. If you haven’t done so, please send in your child’s “about me” story and their picture to be included.
Please remove any papers that come home in your child’s folder daily, some are time sensitive.
Please lookout for the signup sheet for our class Halloween party. It will be posted outside our classroom this week. Thank you for your continued support.
