READING- The skills and concepts taught last week will be reinforced. These were: listening to rhymes and recognizing words that rhyme, recognizing and spelling their first and last names, distinguishing between letters and numbers, blending and segmenting syllables, identifying environmental print, proper book handling, and identifying capital and lower case F-f – J-j. You can assist by guiding your child through their homework and making note of concepts they may not understand. Spend some extra time reviewing those concepts.

MATH- This week the class will use math cubes and two-sided counters to model, count, and write numbers 1,2,3,and 4. We will also practice reading the number words, one, two, three, and four.

RELIGION- Our next Bible story is The Garden is Closed. We will discuss how Adam and Eve disobeyed God and were banished from the garden.

SOCIAL STUDIES- We continue to focus on the importance of following rules. We are also learning to read our calendar, month, days, date, and year. In our discussion the students learn to read the day and date before a given day/date and after a given day/date.

SCIENCE- Summer to Fall changes are discussed. We will also observe any changes in the environment that may have occurred.
