READING- We will continue to explore how animals use different body parts. For more specifics see last week’s blog. In addition we are reading the story The Hat, by Jan Brett and comparing it to last week’s story The Mitten, also by Jan Brett. We’ll discuss similarities and differences in characters, setting, author’s purpose, and illustrations.

MATH- We will continue to review for our test on Tuesday, 2/12, then begin our next chapter in which we will learn to represent, count, and write numbers 11-19.

RELIGION- Jesus Blesses the Children is our next Bible story.

SOCIAL STUDIES- We will read and discuss the importance of our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln.

SCIENCE- The class will be discussing good health habits to prevent illness and the spreading of germs.

Bring Valentine’s for classmates.

Bring a small candy gift for your 5th Grade Buddy.

On Valentine’s Day wear RED. It is a non-uniform day.
