READING- Refer to last week’s blog for our reading concepts, as we are not moving forward to our next lesson until next week.

MATH- Our focus this week is to compare numbers to 5 reviewing the terms equal, more/greater than, and less/fewer than. We will use counters, math cubes, and drawing to solve problems. You can help by using the afore-mentioned terms at home along with their counters to practice these concepts. Children often have difficulty grasping the terms above. Constant practice is required and will be helpful, as we will have a Chapter 2 Math test Tuesday, 10/23.

RELIGION- This week we will discuss the Bible story, God Blesses Abraham.

SOCIAL STUDIES- Our topic is places people live. Have your child memorize their address.

HANDWRITING- Our next handwriting stroke is “slide across.”

SCIENCE- The students will read and discuss how pumpkins grow and compare their growth to the growth of an apple.

REMINDERS:

Picture day is Wednesday, 10/17. All students are to wear their uniforms.

If you have not returned your Pumpkin trip form and fee please do so as soon as possible.

Review the class rules as the students need to be reminded of appropriate school behavior.

We will go to the playground every day unless the temperature is below 30 degrees. Dress your child appropriately.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

An educational system isn’t worth a great deal if it teaches young people how to make a living but doesn’t teach them how to make a life.

Have a Blessed Week!
