Our trip to the Planetarium was educational and fun! The weather even cleared up so that we were able to picnic outside after the show. The children learned all about the sun, moon, stars, and planets. They learned about constellations, rainbows and prisms.

The reading and spelling tests given this Friday will be the last ones in first grade! We will read the last story in our reading book next week, but I will not test them on it.

I have been assessing the children’s reading levels, and they have amazed me by how much their reading skills have grown! During
the last 2 weeks of school, I will be administering the math and ELA benchmark tests which will show the growth in those areas. The children have worked so hard this year!

We have begun “Teacher for the Day” lessons this week, and we are all excited to see what our classmates have planned for us! Everyone will know the date they will be “teaching” by this Monday.

Have a great week, and don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
