Welcome to Mrs. Flomer’s class notes!
Here’s a look at what we will be doing this week!
Spelling-The test on lesson 18 spelling words will be given this Monday. The new words for this week are: show, row, grow, low, blow, snow, boat, coat, road, toad. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework by Wednesday. They should write 8 sentences by Friday. Use at least 5 words in each sentence. The children may also write a story using all ten words instead of ten sentences. The Spelling Test on lesson 19 words will be Friday.
Phonics- oa and ow words; contractions with ‘ve and ‘re
Language Arts- future tense
Reading: The reading tests on “Where Does Food Come From?” (lesson 18) will be given on Monday. Then we will begin lesson 19 and read the story Tomas Rivera. The children will read it again at home. The Reading tests will be given on Friday. Please make sure your child reads the decodable readers that are sent home each night. They should be able to read the stories fluently.
Math- addition strategies
Social Studies- Life Long Ago-Native Americans
Religion- Bible stories about Jesus speaking to his People
Weekly Reader- Rainbows
Friday is a non-uniform day, and the children should wear green! We will enjoy special green snacks on Friday to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day.
