Here’s a look at what we will be doing the week of 11/18.
Spelling- The test for the lesson 9 words will be given on Wednesday this week. We will then begin lesson 10 on Thursday, and the tests for those words will be given next Wednesday. 11/27.The new words for lesson 10 will be: us, sun, but, fun, bus, run. The vocabulary (“R” book) words will be: eat, put, give, small, one, take. We will begin book 3 after Thanksgiving, and the children will begin writing sentences for some of their words in their “S” books then.
Phonics- lesson 10: short u; final blends; -ump
Language Arts- a, an, and the
Reading: The tests for lesson 9 (Dr. Seuss) will be given this Wednesday. We will then begin lesson 10 and read the story A Cupcake Party. The tests for lesson 10 will be given next Wednesday, 11/27. After Thanksgiving, we will be back to a Friday test schedule!
Math- chapter 4- subtraction strategies test will be given this Friday (11/22)
We will be practicing the strategies all week to make sure the children understand the concepts.
Religion- David and Goliath
Social Studies- cities, suburbs, towns
Science- constellations

Book orders are due this week. If you want to order gifts for your child for Christmas, I will hold on to the books to give to you. Just let me know.
Our Turkey Trot fundraiser will be next Wednesday after our Feast. Those participating will “Trot” around the field across from the school to raise money for Lutheran Social Services-The New Life Center. Please consider sending in $3 and the permission slip so your child can participate and help those in need.
