Mrs. Flomer’s Notes for the week of January 6th
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Wishing you many blessings in the New Year!
Spelling- The new words for lesson 13 are: ship, shop, which, when, whip, fish, down, green, open, fall, grow, yellow, goes, new. The children will write their spelling words 3x each for homework by next Tuesday. They should write 5 sentences by Thursday. Spelling Test will be given on Friday.
Phonics- digraphs wh, ph, sh and word endings
Language Arts- subject/verb
Reading: We will read the story Seasons. The children will read it again at home when they bring home their readers. The “R” book words that are included on the spelling test are: down, green, open, fall, grow, yellow, goes, new. We will focus on cause/effect. Reading tests will be given on Friday 1/10.
Math- Chapter 6- Count and model numbers
Religion- Stories about Jesus’ life
Social Studies- Learning about Earth
Send in pizza envelopes by Thursday.
