St. Paul writes “In the fullness of time God sent His Son”. (Galations 4) The time was right – the government, the rate of exchange, the roads, the language.  The good news could be spread – Immanuel, God is with us.  And so now the time is right for us to celebrate the birthday of our Saviour, Jesus.

And so with our children, we celebrate His birth.  Our Christmas worship  and festivities were wonderful.  We continue the Christmas story with the shepherds and angels.  Luke 2:8-20.

Math has been reviewing the numerals 1-10, position words, and size placement, using of course, all of the items relating to Christmas.

We have several editions of “The Twelve Days of Christmas” comparing the illustrations of Jan Brett and her nordic beauty; Jack Kent, laughing at his cartoon-like illustrations, and  simple illustrations of Susan Spellman,  We are even learning to sing this British Christmas carol.

Do you believe?  Please read with us the POLAR EXPRESS by Chris Van Ahlsberg.

The Nutcracker, the beautiful ballet, will be read this week, the music listened to, and the nutcracker, himself , will make an appearance, cracking walnuts.

Our art projects have been Christmas projects decorating our room and hallways or Christmas presents for Mom and Dad.

This week music has moved from our Christmas program to drums and the Little Drummer Boy; and all the use of bells:  jingle bells and it’s famous songs;  hand bells as we sing “Ring Ring Ring the Bells; and the tone blocks with “Bells Are Ringing”.  The boys and girls have had so much fun playing these instruments and singing.

In computer we have designed our own Christmas trees and Gingerbread Houses.

On Friday, December 20, 2019 we will be having a pajama day with even hot chocolate and a very special movie,

As this Advent season is fast growing to a close and Christmas fast approaching, our advent calendar is filling up and our advent wreath is lit more brightly,  we are filled with anticipation and excitement.  May the holy season fill you with peace, hope, joy, and love.

May our Lord rest His hand gently upon you now and in the New Year!
