Happy Sunday evening families! It is so hard to believe that the end of this week will be November! We have certainly been blessed with some beautiful weather this October to get the kids outside in the fresh air. Please remember that we will continue to go outside as long as the “feels like” temperature is 40 or above. As the weather gets cooler, please be reminded to send in hats for outdoor recess.

This week we will finish our Language Arts units on families with the topic “All Kinds of Families”. If you have not already done so, please send in a family photo to add to our family tree in the hallway. This week we will read You and Me Together, and We Are All Alike, We Are All Different.

For math this week we will focus on sorting. We will have a sorting activity in the sensory table, as well as during small group instruction. We will also review #8, octagon, and the color black.

During Jesus time we will continue learning about families, this week the focus will be on Moses.

For science we will learn about spiders. We will learn that spiders are NOT bugs, they are arachnids! Spiders have 8 legs and 2 body parts. We will make a fun spider craft as well.

Our letter this week will be Ff. We will read “Friendly Frog”, and learn an Ff sound. Please be reminded to help your child choose an item from home that begins with the letter Ff to share with the class on Friday. We will make an F is for Feathers project as well.

This Thursday is Halloween. Please be reminded that the children are not to wear their costumes to school. We will have a special treat on Thursday to celebrate and the following items are needed to make edible spiders:    20 cooked chicken nuggets (original shape please), 20 mozzarella cheese sticks, package of very thin, small pretzel sticks (the ones that come in the little boxes are the best).

Thank you and have a blessed week!
