Happy December everyone! Let the countdown to Christmas begin!

For the month of December our curriculum will be based on all things Christmas. We will not be using Big Day Pre-K this month, as it is a short month and there is not a unit dedicated to Christmas. Our literature for this week will be comparing several versions of The Gingerbread Man. We will read a version by Karen Schmidt and then compare it to a version by Jim Aylesworth by using a Venn Diagram. We will then read a completely different version called Gingerbread Baby by Jan Brett. We will then create a open-ended gingerbread craft.

For math we will continue to review numbers 1-10 with worksheets, center games, and activities.

For Jesus time we will be doing a lot of practicing for next week’s Christmas program. We will visit chapel on Wednesday, and we will be beginning our classroom lessons about Advent. We will start by talking about “An angel came to Mary”.

We will work on the letter Jj this week and will read the story “Jolly Jogger”. We will also make a J is for Jesus craft.

We will be baking cookies tomorrow to kick off the Christmas season!

This week on either Tuesday or Wednesday we will be visiting the Holiday Boutique, so please be sure to send in your child’s envelope.

Have a blessed week!
