This Week in Art
ECC — Seurat’s Dots — preschoolers will be learning about French artist Georges Seurat’s special style of painting called Pointillism (painting with dots of color)
Kindergarten — Paper Sculpture/kindergarten students will be making a Jungle Gym out of paper they have coiled, twisted and accordion folded
Gr. 1 — we are finishing up our Shades of Red Magazine Collage
Gr. 2 — students will be taking a tour of our church’s crosses and creating a piece of art out of a sketch of their favorite cross from the tour
Gr. 3 — we are drawing a stained glass picture to color based on our tour last week of Trinity’s beautiful stained glass
Gr. 4 — fourth graders will be finishing their fresco watercolor paintings this week
Gr. 5 — we will be creating our own Creatures from different animal body part sketches then we will draw the habitat where the creature lives
Gr. 6 — this class has been working hard on their Magazine Mosaic pictures and should be finished real soon
Gr 7 — students will start weaving their Mug Rugs this week after a lesson on weaving terminology and technique
Gr. 8 — will be finishing up their Fingerprint Frenzy drawings using their fingerprints in a creative, whimsical way
Elective Class — students started using paper mache to cover their armature sculptures and some will be ready to paint details this week
