Week 20

“The secret of getting ahead, is getting started.” – Mark Twain

It’s Lutheran Schools Week, and I feel so blessed that I am able to share the good news of our Lord with my students in the classroom!

The children did a fantastic job singing in church on Sunday. I am so very proud of them.  The children will sing again in front of the school during our chapel service on Wednesday.

Math

We are beginning chapter 7 which focuses on division. Some children still need to work on memorizing their multiplication facts. I am going to continue to send home daily review.

ELA

We are NOT having ANY ELA  tests on Friday. We are continuing to read Ramona Quimby, Age 8. We are also reviewing concepts we have previously covered.   Additionally, we are beginning to work on informational reports. The children have been to the library, and most have chosen a famous person that they would like to become an expert on. We will be completing these reports in school.

Social Studies

We are finishing our study of Canada this week. As a final project, the students are working collaboratively to create class books about Canada.

Religion

Since it is Lutheran Schools Week, we are going to be focusing on a different theme each day… “Joy fully, Thank fully, Hope fully, Faith fully, and Peace fully“.  Our Wednesday test is on Ephesians 4:32.

Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other,  just as in Christ God forgave you.   Ephesians 4:32
