This Week in Art

All ECC Classes will be gluing on pom poms to their sheep. Everyone did a wonderful job coloring their sheep!  With a little help from Mrs. Kerwin and two gold fasteners the sheep’s heads and tails actually move back and forth.

Kindergarten will be starting their Watercolor Turkey project.  This project reinforces fine motor coordination by having the students trace penciled lines, color in appropriate spaces and learn proper watercolor painting skills.

Gr. 1 — First graders will enjoy Potato Printing this week using tempera paint colors:  orange, red, green, brown and yellow to paint a picture of fall leaves.

Gr. 2 — This class will examine some original artwork depicting animals from the Bible.  After the slideshow the students will draw a scene from a bible story of their choice using basic geometric shapes for the body parts of the animals.

Gr. 3 — Third graders will be weaving with construction paper to make a festive, fall placemat.

Gr. 4 — These students will continue their stencil design using oil pastels.

Gr. 5 — Fifth graders will complete their paint blobs by using black sharpies to create an image of something.

Gr. 6 — The Sixth grade class is still coloring in their Abstract Name Design pictures.

Gr. 7 — These students will create a decorative border to their Manuscript Writing using fall harvest images and colors.

Gr.8 –– Eighth graders are using scratchboard tools to create a design or scene on gold scratchboard paper.

ART Elective — It’s Time to Get Fancy!  This group had done a fantastic job constructing their 3D initials out of cardboard, tape and paper mache.  They are almost done with the painting process.

Keep Creating and Enjoy Your Week!
