“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

All Grades:

There will be a spelling test on Unit 6 on Friday, December 1st. Please remember that the November book project is due on Wednesday, December 6th.

6th Grade: Last we week we met twice. During those meetings, we worked on a collaborative project with Mrs. Lively’s fifth grade class creating comic strips that illustrated onomatopoeia. This week the sixth grade class will work on a Christmas project. We will review action and linking verbs and begin helping verbs. If time permits, students will begin a short story, The Tail and study conflict, direct and indirect characterization, and inference.

7th Grade: Students in seventh grade will review verbs before beginning helping verbs. We will read two short stories, and study point of view, culture and context clues. This will lead us to reading strategies.

8th Grade: The classes will review verbs and begin helping verbs. We are going to begin reading Flowers for Algernon. We will study point of view and discuss characterization.
