Students must select their November ELA themed book. Book options were sent home and are posted on Google classroom. November book project is due on December 6th.
There will be a vocabulary test on unit 5 on Thursday, November 16th. Much of the homework will be vocabulary.
6th Grade:
We will be reviewing past grammar and usage. Students will read a short story and discuss point of view. Students will write a persuasive essay later in the week.
7th Grade:
Besides studying grammar and usage, the seventh graders will compare two different types of writing- one short story “Three Century Woman,” and one non fiction article “The Fall of the Hindenburg.” We will prepare an in class essay if time permits.
8th Grade:
The eighth graders will continue reviewing grammar and usage. After reading an excerpt from I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings, we will analyze Angelou’s use of imagery. Students will create their own essay using imagery from a favorite memory.
