APPLES-  Math:  #1, 2, 3,  The circle, the triangle, and the rectangle

We’ve even graphed our favorite color  apple.

Johnny Appleseed has come to visit in person of Mr. Stainkamp.

We’ve read many books about apples and Johnny Appleseed and even saw a video about him.

Some of our favorites were:  THE BIG RED APPLE, SEASONS OF ARNOLD’S APPLE TREE, and

PICKING APPLES.

 

Language Arts:  Letters–A is for Apple

S is for September

We’ve read about coming to school in the big book:  HURRAY FOR PRE-K.

Each day we read the morning message and the calendar.

Our new language arts materials have added THE KISSING HAND by Audrey Penn which we have listened to and now we will use the listening center to read the book by ourselves.

 

Science:  We discuss the weather and what we will be wearing and now have begun to think about the Fall season.

 

Art:  Easel painting in the shades of red, yellow, and green

Apple Collages, Water color apples, and making our placemats.

 

Our favorite author is Eric Carle:  WILL YOU BE MY FRIEND?  HEAD TO TOES, PAPA GET THE MOON FOR ME.

Outdoor Play:  Great Weather, we’re walking in a line and staying safe, playing on the slides, swings, and horizontal ladder

 

Cooking time:  Applesauce, of course;  crunchy apple toast

 

Jesus’ Time:   Genesis 1:1 ff          The Creation of the World

We are even making our own Creation book.
