The excitement and anticipation of Christmas is upon us all!

JESUS’ TIME:  The children wait expectantly as we open our Advent calendar; light the Advent wreath; and count the candles on the Advent banner.  Day by day the story of Jesus’ birth is enhanced by the angel’s words–Jesus is born.

LITERACY:  The words of Christmas are fast becoming part of our vocabulary:  Christmas, Advent, Santa Claus, Bell, Cookies, and Angels.

SOCIAL STUDIES:  We continue to meet our friends in the neighborhood getting ready for Christmas.

LITERATURE:  Christmas affords us a variety of books and excellent authors–Norman Bridwell, Jan Brett, and Mary Manz Simon. Reading the NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS and comparing illustrators was a wonderful experience.

COMPUTER:  We are decorating Christmas trees and Gingerbread housed while learning to open and close our activity as well as dragging our mouse to perform these tasks.

ART:  Our children are busily decorating our halls and classrooms while making all their Christmas secrets for their families.

MUSIC:  The theme for our Christmas program this year is ANGELS and everyone has been busily learning all the words and music concerning these heavenly messengers.

As we draw closer and closer to our Saviour’s birth the Pre-K teachers wish all of you God’s richest blessings this Christmastide–remembering that “God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son”  for us and then thank Him for this gift of Jesus into our lives.

May our Lord rest His hand gently upon you now and into the New Year!
