Our soccer unit has come to an end. Starting this week, Kindergarten through 8th grade will be beginning their Flexibility and Stretching unit. In this unit, students are encouraged to assess and help themselves and their peers. Flexibility and stretching are just as important as increasing strength. A point that I am going to make to the students is that great, big, strong muscles are great, but you cannot use them correctly if there is a lack of range of motion. Some of the poses we work on will include balancing with a partner. I look forward to the creativity that our students are going to show in the PE classroom.
