7th Social Studies

On Thursday, seventh grade will be taking their test on Chapter 3, the settlement of the 13 Colonies. Extra help will be available on Thursday morning starting at 7:30 a.m. You may view the study guide here.

8th Social Studies

This week we are beginning Chapter 18, which is all about the growth of industry and urbanization, as I told the students, basically the Unites States becomes more modern. We are going to focus on the inventions that changes the lives of Americans, such as Edison’s light bulb, Bell’s phone, Ford’s motor company. We will also study the entrepreneurs who profited from this boom in industry such as Rockefeller, Carnegie, and Morgan, along with the negatives of big businesses. 8th Religion

This week we will be mainly studying the lives of the Israelites in the wilderness, especially their worship habits. We will be focusing on the structure and symbolism of the Tabernacle, which will lead into their second trimester project in a few weeks. The memory verse is John 6:35, and the quiz is on Wednesday.
