Hello, everyone. Here are the plans for this week.

7th Social Studies

On Friday, the students began viewing a National Geographic documentary about the Lewis and Clark expedition to explore the west. This week, they will finish the film and will complete a quiz on what they saw on Tuesday. Next, we will study the conflicts that led to the War of 1812. We will likely begin reviewing for the chapter 9 test on Friday. The tentative test date is Thursday, May 16th.

8th Social Studies

This week is a big week in eighth grade social studies. We are finishing up the Great Depression, and the students will complete a DBQ packet and essay in class in lieu of a typical chapter test. On Thursday, we will finally begin the much anticipated chapter on World War II.

8th Religion

This week the students will be presenting a project they have been working on in class that goes into how one can serve God in a future career. We will then get into the thought provoking lesson on Ezekiel’s vision in chapter 1 of his book of the Bible. The memory verse for this week is Esther 4:14b, which is found on 101 in the student book, or may be studied from the Google Classroom. Since it is just the second half of the verse, please have your child study from their book.
