Greetings to all! As we are approaching our Winter Recess, this is sure to be a busy week. Here are the plans for my classes:

7th Social Studies

The students will be finishing up the Revolutionary War this week. In order to tie up loose ends before our week off, the students will be taking an open notes test on Friday. They will be able to use their chapter review and their section notes.

8th Social Studies

The eighth grade classes also have a test this week. The test on chapter 20 will be on Wednesday, the 14th. The study guide is available here. There will be extra help on Wednesday morning beginning at 7:30 a.m. On Thursday and Friday, we will be getting into the underlying causes of World War I, which they will study in more detail following the break.

8th Religion

We left off this past week study the calling of Samuel, and the students are currently working on trivia questions based on 1 Samuel chapter 1-3. The two classes will be competing against one another to see which class wrote the more challenging questions. We will then continue our study of the books pf Samuel with his anointing of Saul, Israel’s first king. There is no memory verse this week, but the students were given an extra credit opportunity that is due on February 28th. You may view the assignment here.
