Hello, and welcome back to a new week. It was a pleasure seeing everyone who came out for Back to School Night. If you were unable to attend, please let me know if you have any questions. Here are the plans for this week:

7th Social Studies

The students of 7A will take their chapter 1 test on Monday. We have reviewed in class for a few days, and they should be going over their notes this weekend. Both classes will begin Chapter 2, which will go into the European exploration of North and South America. We will begin with the Vikings, and then learn about the sailors and conquistadors who sailed on behalf of Spain, and how their arrival affected the native peoples of the Americas.

8th Social Studies

The eighth grade students have finished their study of the Civil War and will take their test on Friday, September 29th. You may view the study guide here. The following week we will get into the process of reconstruction. The students are very eager to find out the next chapter of the story.

8th Religion

This week we will be focusing our study on Abraham and his relationship with God. This will lead into the first major project of the year. The outline and rubric will be posted next week. The memory verse for this week is Ephesians 3:15, which is part of the verse on page 17 of the student book.

Have a wonderful week!
