Welcome back to a new week at Trinity! Here are the plans for this week.

7th Social Studies

This week the classes are reviewing for a test on Chapter 9, The Era of Thomas Jefferson. Highlights from this chapter include The Lewis & Clark expedition and the War of 1812. 7A will have their test on Wednesday, May 10th, and 7AA will have their test on Thursday, May 11th. The study guide is available here. At the end of this week, the students will work on in class projects on topics that will relate to events leading up to the split between the North and South in the Civil War. They will receive instructions in class, and Chromebooks will be essential to completing the projects.

8th Social Studies

This week the students will be reviewing for a test on Chapter 24, World War II. Between studying World War II era literature in Language Arts, and studying the causes of the war and the personalities involved in social studies, the students have received a solid overview of one of the most life-changing events of the 20th century. The study guide will be available to view on Monday. The test will be on Thursday, May 11th. Following the test, the students will begin working on research projects in class that will focus on the events of of the late 20th century- the Cold War, the Vietnam War, the Civil Rights Movements, and so on.

8th Religion

This week, we will continue to focus on the early days of Jesus’ ministry.  At the end of the week, the students will complete a Unit 5 review. The test will be on Tuesday, May 16th. This will cover the Israelites in captivity, the Messianic prophecies of the Old Testament, the birth of Christ, the ministry of John the Baptist, and the early days of Jesus’ ministry. The memory verse for this week is John 3:16-17.
