Math Grade 6
We will begin our unit on Statistics. This week our focus will be on measures of center (Mean, Median, Mode), measures of variation (minimum, maximum, range), and central tendency application problems. The quiz on these topics will be on Friday, 12/8. Extra help is Wednesday, from 7:30 to 8:00 AM.
Math Grade 7
We are continuing with algebraic expressions and equations. This week our focus will be on two step equations. The quiz on one and two step equations will be on Thursday, 12/7. Please make sure that the students have their calculators from this point on. Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:30-8:00 AM.
Pre-Algebra
This week we are continuing with graphing linear equations. Our focus this week will be on finding the slope of a line and applying this to word problems. There are not any quizzes this week. Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:30 to 8:00 AM.
Algebra
We are finishing up chapter 6, Systems of Equations. This chapter covers solving two or more equations using various methods such as graphing, substitution, and elimination. Application problems involving systems will also be explored. Additionally, we will be learning how to graph linear inequalities. The test on Chapter 6 will be on Thursday, 12/7. Extra help is Wednesdays during recess.
