Math Grade 6
This week our main focus will be on greatest common factors (GCF), least common multiples (LCM), distributing, and application problems that pertain to these skills. On Tuesday, 10/10 the students will be participating in a math lab on GCF and LCM. The quiz on GCF and LCM will be on Thursday, 10/12. Extra help is Wednesday morning from 7:30 to 8:00 AM.
Math Grade 7
This week we will be focusing on rational number application problems. Students will explore different strategies to solve various word problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. There are not any tests or quizzes this week. Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:30-8:00 AM.
Pre-Algebra
We are starting our next unit on exponents and scientific notation. We will be exploring how to convert numbers into scientific notation and how to add, subtract, multiply, and dividing numbers that are written in scientific notation. There will be a quiz on Scientific Notation on Friday, 10/13. Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:30 to 8:00 AM.
Algebra
This week we are reviewing Chapter 3, which covers solving and graphing inequalities. We learned how to solve and graph multi-step, compound, and absolute value inequalities. These concepts will also be applied to various word problems. The test on Chapter 3 will be on Thursday, 10/12. Extra help is by appointment.
