Math Grade 6

This week we will be finishing up our first unit on the number system. The test will be on Tuesday, 10/3. Following this unit we will begin discussing Greatest Common Factors and Least Common Multiples. This will help us when we begin our fraction unit.   Extra help is Wednesday morning from 7:30 to 8:00 AM.

Math Grade 7

We are beginning our discussion on adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing rational numbers, involving fractions and decimals. The quiz on rational number computations will be on Friday, 10/6.  Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:30-8:00 AM.

Pre-Algebra

We are starting our next unit on exponents and scientific notation. We will be exploring how to convert numbers into scientific notation and how to add, subtract, multiply, and dividing numbers that are written in scientific notation. There are not any tests or quizzes this week.   Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:30 to 8:00 AM.

Algebra

This week we are beginning Chapter 3, which covers solving and graphing inequalities. We will be solving multi-step, compound, and absolute value inequalities. These concepts will also be applied to various word problems. There will be a quiz on Thursday, 10/5 on compound inequalities and absolute value equations and inequalities.
