Math Grade 6

This week our focus will be on adding and subtracting fractions. We will be reviewing how to find your least common denominator and how to add or subtract mixed numbers.   There are not any quizzes this week.   Extra help is Wednesday morning from 7:30 to 8:00 AM.

 

Math Grade 7

This week we will be reviewing rational number application problems. Students will explore different strategies to solve various word problems involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.   We will also be reviewing Unit 1 which covers various operations involving integers (positive and negative numbers) and rational numbers which include fractions and decimal computation.   The test will be on Thursday, 10/19.

Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:30-8:00 AM.

 

Pre-Algebra

We are starting our next unit on exponents and scientific notation. We will be exploring how to convert numbers into scientific notation and how to add, subtract, multiply, and divide numbers that are written in scientific notation. There will be a quiz on computation with Scientific Notation on Thursday, 10/19. Extra help is Wednesday morning at 7:30 to 8:00 AM.

 

Algebra

This week we are starting Chapter 5. This chapter explores slope of a line/rate of change. Students will learn different methods to graph a line such as using a table, using x and y intercepts, slope intercept form, and point slope form. There are not any quizzes this week. Extra help is by appointment.
