READING- Our essential question this week is, ” What kinds of things could happen on a hike?” To help us answer this question we will read and discuss the stories, Nicky and the Rainy Day, and Sheep Take a Hike. We will also read and discuss two Fairy Tales, The Three Billy Goats Gruff, and The Builder and the Oni, to help us learn about “cause and effect.” Our high frequency words are: go, here, soon, for, they, and up, and we’ll continue blending using the initial and final “d” sound. In grammer our focus is on verbs in the past tense and antonyms, or words that are opposites.

MATH- We will complete Chapter 7 by modeling, counting, and writing numbers 18 and 19. The class will have a test on Thursday, March 30. You will receive a study sheet and pages to help your child review.

RELIGION- We are still discussing Jesus heals a paralyzed man.

SCIENCE- The class will observe and discuss signs of Spring.

WRITING- We will write a “thank you” letter and practice sentences.
