READING – The theme for our next unit is, various topics in General Science. This week and part of next week we will answer the essential question, ” What kinds of things do scientists do?” We will read, Dear Mr. Blueberry, What is Science? and Benjamin Franklin, Inventor, to help us answer our question. Our high frequency words have increased from four per week to six per week so please help your child practice the following words on a daily basis, is, of, many, how, so, and where. Continue to also practice all previously learned words. The students will also be blending using the long and short “i” sound in the middle of words. We will discuss sentences that are questions, and identify story details, and the main idea. Continue to practice reading fluency at home.

MATH – The class will be completing Chapter 6 on Subtraction, and will have a test on THURSDAY, 3/8. Further information will be sent home.

RELIGION – Our focus is on the stories, Jesus Blesses the Children, The Widow’s Mite, and Jesus Heals a Paralyzed Man.
