READING – Last week our essential question was, “How do our senses help us learn about the world?” We have been discussing our senses and using them for different activities. One of those activities were making and eating popcorn.

Our essential question this week is, ” How do animals and people communicate?” The stories that will help us answer the question are Amelia’s Show-and-Tell Fiesta, Mice Squeak, We Speak, and The Fort Worth Zoo. We’ll review the high frequency words, like, and, I, the, see, and our new word is we. Short and long “a” and the “t” sound will be learned in phonics, blending and segmenting sounds in words will also be taught, and we’ll discuss the use of adjectives,(describing words), in sentences. In our Readers the stories we will practice are, Tt and We Like Toys.

MATH – The class will complete Chapter 3 in Math and have a test on Friday, 12/8. A study sheet and math pages will be sent home for you to use to help your child review the chapter.
