READING- Our essential question this week is,”Why do different animals move in different ways?” To help us answer this question we will read and discuss the stories, Jonathan and His Mommy, Move!, and The Hare and the Tortoise. In addition we will review all high frequency words learned thus far and add the word “a” to our list. The students will continue to identify beginning sounds, with a focus on hard “c” as in “cat,” blend sounds to read new words, practice reading fluency using expression as we read, and review action words and adjectives.

MATH- The class will begin Chapter 4. In this chapter we will represent and compare numbers to 10. Specifically this week we will model and count 10 objects, discover ways to make 10, and write 10. The vocabulary used will be, “greater/more,” “less/fewer,” and “same number/equal.”

RELIGION- The Bible story is, An angel visits Mary.

SCIENCE- The class will continue to ask questions and learn to think of ways to solve problems.

HANDWRITING- Our letter to write on lines is, T-t.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK

Teach me to feel another’s woe,

To hide the fault I see;

That mercy I to others show,

That mercy show to me.
